FAQs for Members of the Press

Q. Who can apply for Press Credential to cover CARIBBEAN CULTURE FEST?

A. People who either work or freelance for bona fide media outlets can apply. This includes photographers, videographers, editors and bloggers. Preference is given to members of the press who regularly cover similar events and can show tearsheets of their work. Portrait, wedding and portfolio photographers are not considered to be press unless they have been assigned to shoot for a bona fide media outlet. We especially look for press that have over 5,000 followers on social media.

Q. Is there an application fee?

A. No, but support contributions to help offset costs are accepted and much appreciated. Supporters get a mention on the printed event

program and are identified as Media Partners.

Q. What is the venue for CARIBBEAN CULTURE FEST?

Q. If I submit an application, will I be on the press list?

A. All applications are reviewed and if approved. Only people with press passes will be on the press list. Access to Press Portal does not guarantee that one will be selected.

Q. Are press passes valid for all shows and parties?

A. Press passes are valid for access to cover the Press Conference and the 2-day festival. Access to parties are not included. You have to make a special request.

Q. How many people can be accredited from each press organization?

A. Maximum 3. All names must be on the application.

Q. What is the criteria to be approved?

A. Minimum 5,000 followers or subscribers on social media, valid website and/or social media URLs, coverage of music, culture, news, fashion, lifestyle or related topics. Proof of Caribbean Culture Fest Pre-Coverage.

Q. Do you cover travel expenses for members of the press?

A. No.

Q. When can I expect to receive my press pass?

A. Access to Press Portal does not guarantee press passes. An Approval email will be sent starting 30 days before the event.

Q. Can I attend if my media credentials are not active?

A. We also produce the Madame Gougousse Haiti Cup which is held from March-May.

Q. What are the rules for using the content I shoot at your events?

A. Video under 10 minutes and photos can be used for editorial purposes. Please contact us for information on rates and conditions for commercial and advertising usage.
